“Christ IN YOU the HOPE of GLORY”

The Father from eternity desired this – that we should be His very own issue and offspring, His very own sons and daughters begotten of His very own bowels!
The Son, Who is ever face-to-face with His Father and Who “always doeth those things that please Him”, would never do less than to bring this longing of His Father’s heart to fruition. He would do far more than just bring us into a close fellowship, He would bring us face-to-face also and infuse us into His very own Body – actual members “of HIS FLESH” and “of HIS BONES”!!!
He makes us part of Himself! Yet He goes even further!
As integral members of His Body, we are consequently members of Him Who is the HEIR OF ALL THINGS!
All things are ours in Him! There is no exaggeration here!
We have already been given the EARNEST and PLEDGE of our
               inheritance – the HOLY SPIRIT.
Through Him we already begin to possess the foretaste of our possessions which are TWO-FOLD:
-First, SPIRITUALLY: our spiritual perfection is already begun in us through
the “washing of regeneration” or new birth, cleansing us from all sin and
unrighteousness, and transforming our nature into the Son’s own likeness;
Second, PHYSICALLY: we shall be glorified bodily as well as spiritually,                                               starting even now in a measure the work of healing and quickening in our bodies                         by transforming them into the likeness of His resurrection body!
As A. J. Gordon put it so succinctly in his excellent book – “The Ministry of Healing”:                         “The good thing to come for the soul is its full and perfect sanctification at the appearing of the Lord. The work of regeneration and daily renewal by the Holy Ghost is the constant reminder and pledge and preparation for that event; and the regeneration is a “perpetual miracle.” The good thing to come for the body is glorified corporeity, resurrection and transformation into Christ’s perfect likeness when He shall appear. HEALING by the power of the Holy Ghost is the PLEDGE and FORETOKEN of this consummation.”

Every healing in these natural bodies is an earnest of the coming glorification when these bodies shall be forever healed, whole and perfected – made “like unto His glorious body”!
All that is His resurrection Body is the earnest of what ours shall be! Not less than, or more than, but equal to!  It is a total work of glorification to which we look forward, planned of the Father’s good pleasure!
What will it be to have a glorified mind – a glorified brain when we shall “know even as we are known”??? When education will be obsolete and unnecessary!
And what of pleasure? Glorified senses – sights, tastes, smells, sounds, thrills, joys, pleasures – at His right hand shall there not be “pleasures forevermore”??? And what will the magnitude of the pleasures pursued by the unbeliever be in comparison and in contrast to the pleasures that will be enjoyed by the redeemed? In fact so exceedingly beyond the human imagination and experience are these things that the inspired writer could only exclaim – “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither hath it entered into the heart” what God has waiting for the joint-heirs! But, he continues, THESE THINGS ARE REVEALED TO US BY HIS SPIRIT! We are not in the dark, even though we only see presently “through a glass darkly” – for “in Thy Light shall we see Light”! Soon we shall see Him “face to face”! We “shall know even as we are known”!
But we, as joint-heirs with the Son, are thus heirs to His glorification both inwardly and outwardly! The Spirit fashions us to be like Him in all things in our nature and character, forming Christ in us, and it begins at the new birth! This is our inheritance – to be made like the Son in all things! Not only spiritually speaking – because He is whole, both spiritually and physically, He thus imputes the same to us! A healed hand is merely a close copy of His perfect hand! I can lay claim in earnest to His wholeness for my very own! He is the hard-copy, the Model, the Prototype GLORIFIED MAN after which the Spirit, the Great Artisan, is now fashioning us:                                   “As He is – so are we in this world.” What happened to Him in His resurrection, glorification and exaltation we too inherit! we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."

All is passed on to us for whom these things were ultimately sought and accomplished!
All was done in order to take back for the race what it lost in Adam – and
          more also!
All that Adam forfeited has been restored in Christ!
As the Second Man, Jesus not only took our shame but also the consequences of our fall upon Himself as our human Representative.
Standing condemned and forsaken of God, He bore not only our sins but
the guilt and condemnation also, bearing all the penalties incurred thereby!
He went to the very death and to the grave, but then reversed the whole
process in Himself by taking back again both for Himself and us, everything
man lost – and more also –  through His resurrection and glorification!
Here was the first Man to both taste and experience our loss, and then retreive it all! All of it!
All was lost by man, and all was restored by Man, restored first to His own humanity, and then shared out with all His human "brethren"! In Christ, ALL that Adam lost has been restored to redeemed humanity! And as God, He now imputes this same divine standing to us so that we are not only members of a restored humanity, but members joined to His divinity also! Thus, we are now born from above and thus heirs to all that is above as well as to all in the earth! We are a divine-humanity with Him, and are thus heirs to the whole universe!

JOINT-HEIRS!                                                                                                                                                  We are now “in” the Son, and the Son is “in” the Father! Is this not a high and holy position and privilege??? Yet this is exactly the high honor and glorious dignity we have received in Him!
“the glory which Thou gavest Me have I given them…”
Not a lesser glory did the Son request for us, but the same glory so that we too should share the dignity of the title “SONS OF GOD” as John also explains in his epistle:
“Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us
that we should be called the SONS of God”!!!
He is glorying in this lofty privilege which has been granted us that we are more than slaves, not even mere adoptees, but begotten into the family as “SONS”!
But Paul went even further, when he wrote that “if sons … then … “Joint-Heirs”! Equal possessors and sharers in “ALL THINGS”!!! All that belongs to the Father belongs equally to the Son, and likewise to us in Him!!!

The Son of man while on earth, because He was of heavenly and royal lineage, had supernatural body guards to assist and protect Him in His mission!
As joint-heirs and brothers to the King, so do we!                                                                                 The angelic hosts rush to the aid of Christ’s brethren even as they would be urgent in their attendance to Him!
Royalty has privilege!
Not only was He of the royal House of David, but He was the Offspring of His Majesty on High!
In Him we are also!
We are members of Him Who is the promised Seed of Abraham, and are thus heirs to the earth and all nations!
As the offspring of Him Who sits on heaven’s throne, we are the royal heirs also to all that heaven holds!
All that Jesus the Man enjoyed of a Son’s privileges on earth are likewise passed down to us, His brethren, as we abide in Him. He even had the angelic assistance in the wilderness following His victory over satan in His forty days of temptation,

“and His temptation being ended, the angels came and ministered to Him.”

If we have ever seen a prize fighter after a round, his assistants come to attend to him to both give him some respite and to revive him before re-entering the ring – so is the picture given to us here! As a man, He needed assistance in His human weakness. He didn’t use His divine prerogatives as God the Son, but limited Himself in His humility to depend entirely on the help of heaven – by the anointing of the Holy Spirit – even as we! He must show us that we as humans can overcome in the same way that He did, otherwise He would have had an unfair advantage over us!
And what of the many times when His enemies would have killed Him but He passed through their midst unharmed? Was it not the angels who escorted this unrecognized King to safety, blinding His enemies to His movements so that He might escape their hands?
In the garden of Gethsemane we find an angel appearing to Him in His agony and strengthening Him. Was it not His royal prerogative to summon legions of these attendants had He so willed??? Are we not joint-heirs to the same privileges since we are His siblings?
Surely then, angels were His attendants and servants and are likewise our attendants – sent forth to the brethren of the King in order to assist and provide them with the same divine help and privileges He enjoyed!
“Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister to them who shall be
     the heirs of salvation?”
His privileges are our privileges! What He enjoyed, we enjoy!
He passed all of this down to us, and it is our birthright and heritage as SONS!
Let us meditate on it!
Let us be thankful for such high and holy privileges given us!                                                                   We are not stumbling along on our own without help!
Yes, the Father has dispatched the Son’s own bodyguards to assist us in our mission to reach this world!
We are truly loved and cared for!!! But this is only a small portion of all that is ours!!!

“I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.” Psalm 82:6
“Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?” John 10:34
“Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
If He called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture
cannot be  broken; say ye of Him, Whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent
into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said,  I am the Son of God?” ( John 10:34-36)
The case is made here that because Jesus claimed to be the Son, or Offspring of Deity, that He Himself must also be Deity! As a bird can only reproduce after its own kind, and as any other form of creature can only reproduce after its own kind, it follows rationally that Jesus, as God’s Offspring, must Himself be divine! If anything born of a human should be less than human, we would say it is a freak! How then can something born of the Divine be less than divine??? God does not give birth to freaks! Jesus Himself did not deny what was written in the 82nd Psalm where God Himself said to men:

“I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.”  (Psalm 82:6)

Jesus then places the divine seal upon this passage of scripture, never once demeaning its full import and legitimacy, because He said – “and the scripture cannot be broken…”!                           If, He reasoned, it was true concerning what God said of natural men, i.e., that He called them “gods”, then surely Jesus Himself could claim without exaggeration to be the “Son” of God!       The devil himself is referred to by the Apostle Paul as the “god” of this world, or this age.               If the devil can be a “god” or “master” over the masses of unredeemed humanity, then why should it be thought a thing strange that we, who are likewise called “sons of God” by the new birth, should also be called “partakers of the DIVINE nature” as Peter himself wrote concerning us??? In this sense, can we not be called little “gods” along the same argument as used by Christ? If God were His Father, and He was begotten of Him, then He must in fact be DIVINE, since divinity gives birth to divinity, and this is exactly what the Jews understood Him to mean!           We who are also begotten of God, although in a different sense, are nevertheless partakers of the same divine nature! Something divine has been placed into us from the divine Parent! “…His SEED remaineth in him”! When God “so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son”, at that time Jesus was in fact the “only” begotten of the Father, but since His ascension, and through means of the New Birth, He has brought “many sons” unto glory “begotten again” into the Father’s family and in the Father's image! There is no longer therefore just one begotten son,    but now there are many begotten sons! If it should still be contended however that Jesus alone is the “only” begotten, let it be remembered that we have been incorporated into that “Only begotten” of the Father and are thus "bodily members" of the “Only-begotten” One! We then, are one with the “Only-begotten” of God, being “in Christ” Who is our Head!
Some, however, would object to such strong language in reference to the Christian because it might seem to run along the lines of the doctrines held by some of the cults! While it is true that the Mormons believe in many gods, there is nevertheless a fundamental difference in what they are saying and in what the scripture is saying! They do not believe in only One Supreme Cause and Deity, but in many! To them, Elohim used to be like we are now, and evolved or graduated into godhood! But the Bible teaches no such thing about an evolving god but that there is only ONE, ETERNAL, UNCHANGING GOD – supremely perfect from all eternity, before all things! We do not mean to say anything other than that! There is only ONE SUPREME BEING Who is "before all things", and "by whom all things exist", and this One Supreme God exists as THREE  DISTINCT PERSONS, co-equal, and co-eternal! But we must also note that the strength of the cults lies in the fact that they use Bible truths to give some form of credence to their claims, although twisted into error. In our fear of agreeing with such cults however, we must be careful NOT to throw out the baby with the bathwater! Neither can we infer that to believe or desire to be like Christ Who is Himself God, that somehow we are committing the same sin of pride as Lucifer who wanted to be like the Most High! Yes, for him it was a sin of presumption and usurpation in trying to be like God and in trying to take over the throne! Since he was never created in God’s image it was folly for him to think that he could be like the Creator! Satan was not created in God’s image but MAN WAS! And satan’s suggestion to the first human pair that if they would eat of the forbidden fruit that they would then “be as God” is ironic in the sense that both Adam and Eve were already like God –  created in His image, BY HIS OWN DESIGN AND WILL! In fact they were the "gods" of the world into which God had placed them! But satan took that title to himself when he successfully persuaded man to obey him! It is no sin for the Christian to want to be like God, only is it sin to attempt to try to usurp Him! Did not Christ Himself command us to be like His Father?
“Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”
Yes, if we have been begotten by God then we are both human and divine in nature! Yet He had no beginning and we did! We will never be equal to Him in that sense, but we will share in His future Eternity and glory! His eternal life stretches into eternity past and into eternity future, whereas ours will reach only into eternity future! We are like little gods birthed by the grand and benevolent Father, little gods who find their origin in Him! But we are more than this – we are integral members of God’s "flesh" and of His "bones" as Paul said:
“for we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones…”
And again,
“he that is joined unto the Lord is ONE SPIRIT

In the book of Ephesians, the Apostle wrote,
“and He is the Head of the body, the church, the fullness of Him that filleth all…”
What are we to deduce from such statements? Christ is the HEAD of the BODY which is the CHURCH, and the CHURCH is the FULLNESS of the One Who both fills all His members, and is in all His members! The Head is the fullness, the complement or completion of the body, and the body is the complement or completion of the Head! Even as the spirit of a man fills his whole being, so also does the Spirit of Christ fill, and thus weld into one unit, every member of the Body with the Head, which Body are we! We are “ONE SPIRIT”, or fused together and united by One and the Same Spirit Who permeates and fills both the Head and each and every believer making them all ONE BODY!
Note the strength of the words used by Paul in 1st Cor. 12:
“as the body is ONE yet hath many members, so also is CHRIST…”
Here Paul refers to both the body and the Head as “CHRIST”!
We then, are a real part, and the complement of Christ Himself!
It is this identification with Christ as His body that reckons us all “crucified”, “dead”, “buried”, “quickened”, ascended, and “seated” with Him in the heavenly places – “in Christ Jesus”!!!
When the Spirit “baptized” us all into one body, He baptized us into the history of that Body of Jesus which was crucified, died, was buried, risen, ascended and enthroned! What was true of His body was thus imputed to us as if it had happened to us since we are now incorporated into that same body!
We then, are real and vital members of  Christ!
“that He might bring MANY SONS unto GLORY”!
That was the cry of the Father’s heart, and the mission of His Son – GLORY for the race! It would no longer be only – the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost – but the family would be enlarged through Christ –  the Father, the SONS, and the Holy Ghost!
“that they all might be ONE IN US…”
“What God hath joined together, let no man put asunder”.                                                              Either such statements found in the scripture are true or they are blatant deceptions!
Either they are true or they are not!!!
But we believe that such statements were meant to be believed as they are found in the divine record.
Let no man attempt to dilute these glorious realities simply because they are difficult to comprehend!
Let us not tailor such statements to fit our minds, but let us rather alter our minds to fit the Scriptures!
“Let God be true and every man a liar.”
We have been baptized into, and are thus MEMBERS OF THE SECOND PERSON OF THE TRINITY and no amount of explaining otherwise can deny this fundamental reality set forth in Holy Scripture! If God didn’t want us to draw our conclusions based on what He has said, then He is responsible for our deception!
But He has NOT deceived us!
We have in fact rather been deceived by so-called theologians who are guilty of obscuring the plain language of scripture to fit their understanding, until everything loses its meaning and must be understood within the parameters imposed by their own narrow and prejudiced interpretations!
We are the extensions and vital constituents of the Godhead in Jesus Christ! “Members of His flesh and of His bones” – can we get any deeper than this???                                                        “Flesh” is the outermost part of  the body, whereas the “bones” would be the very core upon,   and over which the flesh is built! We then, are both the inner and outermost fabric of the body of the SECOND PERSON OF THE TRINITY! So much so that the apostle who used this terminology was the very same to whom the Lord said,
“Why persecutest thou ME”???
Saul was persecuting the Christians, but Jesus said that it was He Himself that Saul was persecuting!
If Jesus sees us as integral parts of Himself, why should we see ourselves otherwise???

“Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel,                                    and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him.                         The king answered unto Daniel and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.” (Daniel 2:46-47)
“Thus saith the LORD, The labor of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of
the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be
thine: they shall come after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, saying, SURELY GOD IS IN THEE; and there is none else, there is no (other) God.” (Isa.45:14)
Does the passage quoted from the second chapter of Daniel rock you back on your heels?
Every other place where someone fell down to worship a mere man was immediately rebuked for it. But here we find no rebuke from Daniel! You would say, “Surely Daniel must have rejected such actions from Nebuchadnezzar!” But the scripture says nothing in regard to Daniel’s response and is silent – WHY??? Is it possible that Daniel DID accept such honor from this heathen king??? Or is it possible that this was a situation similar to the verse found in the 14th chapter of 1st Corinthians quoted by Paul from Isaiah 45:14 where we read:
“But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not,
or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:
      and thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest;
and so falling down on his face he will worship God,
and report that God is in you of a truth.”  (1st Cor. 14:24-25)
It was from the above quoted passage from Isaiah that Paul referred here "and they shall fall down unto thee, they shall make supplication unto thee, saying, SURELY GOD IS IN THEE;          and there is none else, there is no (other) God.” (Isa.45:14)

It was the GOD Who was with the prophet Daniel to Whom Nebuchadnezzar was falling down before!
It was the God IN the Corinthian prophets to Whom the convicted parties would fall down to and worship!
But, one may argue the fact that Paul tore his clothes in order to try and stop the people from doing sacrifice to him – which, is a very reasonable argument. However, it must also be remembered that they were being mistaken NOT as instruments of the one true living God,      but as incarnations of false deities! And although Paul used the argument that they were mere “men”, in the natural sense, he could NOT have been trying to imply that they were not thus “partakers of the divine nature” or that God was not in them! He wanted to point those people to Christ alone so that they might be saved! It is NOT in this life that we would expect anyone to fall down in homage before us – we are not yet fully or visibly glorified, although that day is near, but one day we shall be – and the glory will be seen on us in a greater way than it was ever seen on the face of Moses! We will shine like Jesus Himself on the Mount of Transfiguration for we shall not see only His “back parts” as did Moses, but we shall see His very "FACE" as well! We shall then bear His IMAGE and LIKENESS to the FULL! The world “knoweth us not” at this present time, but they surely will once we come forth from His Bosom having been transformed into the very image of Jesus – yea, the image of GOD, and then they will fall down in respect before the royal household of the Father as they shall behold His image in us, and thus, it will ultimately be HIM to Whom their homage shall be!!! The God Who will not only BE in us but SEEN in us as well!
                                                    “Thus saith the LORD…
they shall FALL DOWN UNTO THEE,
they shall make supplication unto thee, saying,
                                                    SURELY GOD IS IN THEE.”

"That I may apprehend that for which I am apprehended of Him."
